Me: Victor Frankenstein

Answer: Doctor Frankenstein
Well, I realized that Viktor Frankenstein is spelled with a k, so it would not have been correct anyway.
?? Not by Mary Shelley, as a quick look at any of several free versions of the text on the net would have shown you...

I have been looking at Quiz League packets lately and they spelled Viktor with a k. I really need to rely on better sources.

Maybe I’m missing something, but why were the contestants not shown both “o”s in the first word? Have they changed the game?

I’m assuming this was a toss up puzzle.

Right, forgot about the toss ups. I haven’t watched since TPH was on.

This cartoon raises a good point, which is that the show does not actually print "This is" on the screen with the title Jeopardy!, and it's high time they did. Fans deserve to know that "this is" Jeopardy! every time the show comes on. It's so hard to keep track of which show is being watched, and printing "this is" on the screen every time the title of the show comes up would help fans know which show they're watching. I don't buy the arguments that there are technical impediments to doing so. I also don't think they should experiment with printing "this is" in splitscreen only for a primetime version of the show. They should just immediately implement it on the regular syndicated show and keep it that way. It doesn't matter that they haven't been doing it since the show started in 1984 and it's always worked fine since then. Newer fans who can't keep track of which show they're watching demand appeasement!

WSJ explains that mackerel has become the favored currency since the cigarette ban. Pouches of the fish, available for purchase at the prison commissary, are often as good as cash.

One inmate put it this way:

Mackerel had utility because it was inherently inflationary. A certain amount of macks came into circulation every day. Every inmate can only buy 14 mackerels per week. 14 times 500 inmates times 52 weeks is the amount of mackerels that are coming into circulation every year, and that’s why it was a pretty good stable value of currency.
Wonder what 'penguin dragon sleeping on piles of canned mackerel' would return in one of those AI art generators...

Not really motivated to, since a single query on one of those burns down like, 800 trees...

So I'm not worth 800 trees. I guess that's fair. But how does it do that?

I can generate AI images using an app that runs locally, which as far as I can tell, doesn't really use any extra power.

Many suggestion corrections in the archive are helpful while some are malice, some are nitpicky, some are unnecessary and some are plain wrong. Rarely, do they make me laugh.

This one for game JZ 20 gave me a chuckle: jason zuffranieri streak ends before tying with mattea

At least Ken is also nominated. We know who Wil Wheaton's voting for.
